Well, Carter has been sick for almost 14 days. No fun.
Chloe started to show signs of sickness on Friday. Ughhh.
Nothing worse than 2 sick kiddos.
After school, we had planned for Chloe to participate in the half time show at the Clarksville Academy Basketball Game. She said she felt up to it...so we loaded up, ate a quick bite at Wendy's, and then headed to the game!
It was so cute.

{Cheering on the Cougars...waiting to perform}
Saturday was spent in bed...for all of us!
I ran out to my girlfriend's Orient Expressed Party to order the kiddos a few cute Spring items...
but other than that, we layed low.
{We watched A LOT of TV}
I did try a new crock pot recipe.
YUM!
Hawaian BBQ Chicken
4 frozen chicken breasts
1 bottle of BBQ sauce {we used Jack Daniels}
1 can of pineapple chucks {partially drained}
cook on high for 4-5 hours
Serve over white rice
ENJOY!
{I had a little guy helping me cook}
Sunday, we did a bit of packing...and more lounging.
Thankfully, Carter is on the mend and was back to being his old self!
Chloe, however, is still feeling pretty crummy.
Again, lots of time spent in bed and watching lots of movies!
I finally put batteries in the toy that "Santa" brought Carter.
The kids had a big time playing with it...well,
sitting on it!
Carter wanted to help Daddy pack...
by sitting on the suitcase and putting his blocks inside!
Pictures from last week.
I took Carter to the Dr. on Wednesday night...2 hours later, we were told he had something that was VIRAL.
The words a mother never wants to hear.
I was really hoping for something that was treatable...but, he's now on the mend!
He was worn out from screaming in the waiting room for 45 minutes.
Thursday, I stayed home with Carter so he could get some R&R.
He did the cutest thing that day....
One of his favorite things to do is get sippy cups from the drawer and then try to get water from the fridge.
It's so sweet and always ends up making a big watery mess.
Well, I had an empty Apple Juice Jug by the trash can.
He got his cup like normal, sat it down on the floor, and attempted to pour himself juice.
He was so pateince. His chunky legs kept knocking over the cup or the juice bottle and he just kept trying to do it over and over again!
It amazes me how smart he is at just 15 months!
Here's another recipe I tried last week:
Taco Chicken Chilli
1 can of black beans (drained and rinsed)
1 can of kidney beans (drained and rinsed)
1 can of chopped green chillies
1 can of corn
6 chicken breasts (mine were thawed)
8 oz tomato sauce
1 can of rotel w/ green chillies
cilantro
1 package of taco seasoning
Mix all ingredients in crock pot.
Place 6 pieces of chicken on top.
Cook for 6 hours on low.
Shred chicken and serve!
YUMMY!
Hope you had a wonderful weekend!
I'm actually looking forward to Monday
& NO SICKNESS!
trying your hawaiian chicken recipe this week. looks amazing!!!
ReplyDeleteI went and bought a much nicer crackpot than the one I had and Matt and I have been using it a lot. I really have made a goal that we will eat at home more. unfortunately crockpot is the way to go when you work and have little ones.
ReplyDeleteMargaux has been sick too. Saturday morning she tried to lay down for a nap and woke up crying for mommy. When I went in she just cried at said. "Ears, mommy Ears." So of course we loaded up and went to the doctor to confirm she had an ear infection:(
Hope your kids feel better soon! And holy moly, look at how amazing your recipe looks! I am trying this so soon & I just pinned it so I could remember!
