Found Your Footing Finally

This morning, Carter decided to try to stand up by himself.  Thanks to Big Sister Chloe...a proud Mama was able to capture the moment!
Looks like I need to get on the Baby Proofin'!!

It's hard to see...but, the 'Lovely Ladies of the Internet Department' (as Don calls us) are on a Billboard...actually 8 around town!  This was the best picture I could get while I was at the Co-Op stop light! The billboards are to help promote our new website: WomenAtTheWheel.Net!  Check it out!

Hello Cali!

A few weeks ago, the whole Jenkins crew ventured to San Diego, CA! We actually stayed on the island of Coronado! It was amazing. The town was so beautiful and incredibly clean! All the people there were so relaxed. They rode bikes everywhere and didn't seem to have a care in the world. We got there on Wednesday after traveling for the entire day (literally). Carter and Chloe did great especially considering it was such a long day (with a lay over in Phoenix)! This trip was for the 20 group that our store is a part of. We are incredibly lucky that we get to travel to such amazing places...I'm so thankful my kids get to see so many amazing things...even though they are still so young! The trip was quick, but we got to visit the San Diego Zoo (and see my college buddy Savannah), the kids got to play on the beach, and we got to take a boat cruise to see the island! It was a fantastic trip!

On a Mission....AF 2011

At the end of June, Blake and I flew to Mexico with 2 other couples.  We dub these trips "Adult Formals" in honor of the weekly trips we took in college for Pike Formal.  We spent 7 days and 6 nights at The Royal in Playa Del Carmen!  It was an amazing resort!!  We have done several all inclusive trips before, but this one was one of the best.  It was HUGE, had a great staff, the food was amazing, and the drinks equally as good :)
Picture of our room (yes, that is a huge hot tub in the middle of the room. crazy); view from our room; the maids must have thought it was our honeymoon because they decorated the bed every night!  It was cute!

We did a lot of lounging...and eating.  We took advantage of all the great restaurants on our resort.  We did venture out a time or two to see the local scene!  Everyone was so friendly (well, except when we went down a road with several clubs.  The guys on the street that were trying to get you to come to their club were a bit pushy, but I guess that is just the name of the game).
A few snap shots from our first night there!

To sum up our trip:
lots of eating
a drink or 2
lots of rain (sadly)
water volleyball
lounging on the 'stage'
lots of laughs
celebrating Blake's birthday 3 months late OR 8 months early (however you want to look at it)

Here are a few more pictures.  I didn't take nearly as many as I normally do!

This is what happens when you are the last person to show up to dinner!  We enjoyed a 'free' cake with our already 'free' meal :)  Thanks Kyle!

Because the weather was not cooperating, we opted to go on an Excursion on Wednesday.  It was so fun.  We did 14 zip lines, swam in a cave, paddled through a cave, and rode 2 different ATV trails!  These are things I've never done before....so proud that I did any of it!  It was a blast!

Tequila Time!

Senor Frogs

There were these 8 circles around part of the pool.  Perfect for all 8 of us.  So sad this picture did not come out clearer...we were heading to dinner on our last night!

Had a great time!  Already looking forward to doing it again in 2013 :)

Birthday Sneak Peek!

Thanks to Holly W. for making these adorable cupcake toppers...can't wait for Chloe & Addison's birthday party!

3/4s of a Year Old

Already?  I really can't believe it.  Time flies when you are having fun.  Here is what my very active boy has been up to lately:

Today was his 9 month apt.  Here are Carter Boy's stats:
Weight 22 lbs 14 oz (82%).  This hasn't changed much since his last apt.
Height 30 1/2" (90%).  Still pretty tall.
Head 46.8 cm (96%).  Big noggin!

He is a professional crawler now.  He is EVERYWHERE!  His newest fascination is the dog bowl.  He has a passion for dog food.  As soon as I turn my back, he has both hands into the food and is shoving it into his mouth!!  Gross, right?  It is quite funny...but, believe me, I am grabbing it out of his hands as fast as he touches it.
Yes, I had to snap a picture of this because its so funny...a memory I will always remember!

He is still eating about 28 oz of formula day along with 4 jars of food.
We have a tooth!  He likes table food and chews like he has a mouth full of chompers!
Still wearing size 4 diapers.
Sleeping through the night 7pm-6am!  Thanks Carter!
Words he can say: Mamamama, Dadadada, Hi
Still super smiley and pleasant (even when he is doing something wrong).

I think I'm going to have to baby proof EVERYTHING!  Today, for example, he crawled through our living room and knocked down every picture frame along the way (that was at the floor level)...this was while he was on his way to the dog bowl I might add!

A lot has happened over the last 4 weeks:
1st 4th of July (at the lake) & 1st boating experience (he did great)

1st flight to San Diego, CA & 1st time on the beach
We got tubes!  Yay for NO MORE ear infections!
Holding his own bottle...that comes in handy!
Happy 9 Months Sweet Carter Boy!  By the way, only 3 short months until this boy turns O-N-E!

Date Night with Chloe

Sunday night Blake and I took Chloe to see Cars 2 in 3D. It was so cute. Chloe loved it. Afterwards, we took her to Sweetberry to get a frozen treat. It was a great end to the weekend.

What's Carter up to at 8 months (a tad late)!!

Well, we certainly have an active boy on our hands.  Here are a few highlights from the last month:

*you are crawling everywhere.  now, when I say crawling it is more of an army crawl.  it almost looks like your legs are broken and you are dragging them along.  but, that doesn't stop you....you get what you want and you get it fast.
*you are now able to go from laying on your belly to sitting up.
*you LOVE Riley.  she is the first thing you head for when you are on the ground.  she is so sweet to you though..you grab her face and paws and she just sits there.
*you are still eating at least 4-6 oz bottles a day PLUS 4-5 jars of food (stage 2).
*you are still in size 4 diapers as well.
*as far as weight goes, we will find out in the next few weeks at your 9 month apt; but if I had to guess, I would say you weigh at least 24+ lbs.  you are my big boy :)
*no teeth to report just yet.
*you successfully had tubes put in right before mommy and daddy headed to mexico.  so far so good.  you are babbling more than ever.
*favorite 'word' to say is DADADADADA.  i believe i have heard you say HI as well!
*Chloe still catches your attention at all times.  if you are in the worst mood, she instantly makes you smile.
*you have gotten really good at picking cheerios, etc off your highchair tray.

Carter, I know I sound like a broken record, but you are such a joy.  Everyone that meets you says how sweet you are.  We couldn't be more proud of you and the precious baby boy you are becoming!  Looking forward to the coming months that will bring so many more special milestones!  We love you!

Why not have a photo shoot?

These are the adorable outfits that Sandy got the kids for Christmas.  They made the perfect 4th of July outfits...and the perfect reason for Casey & I to take 5 million pictures of our sweet kids!  I love these 3 little faces!
It's tough to get a good shot of all 3 of them!  This one turned out pretty good :)

Carter's favorite accessory--his paci!

I know that these 2 will be the best of friends...and cause lots of trouble together (I'm sure of it)!

We're Back!

Well, we are finally home.  7 days is a LONG time to be away from the kiddos and from life, but we have spent the last 2 days getting adjusted :)

This is where we have been the past week:
But, more of that later...

This weekend, we spent the 4th at the Lake.  It is a yearly tradition that we do & I'm looking forward to the kids doing this with us over the coming years!  Sunday's weather was great, but today's...not so good.  We got some boating time in & Carter got to go out for the 1st time as well.  He was a good sport--he barley cried and it was extremely HOT out there!  Chloe enjoyed the water...she is such a little fish!  Oh, and the kids had sweet matching outfits that Grandy got them for Christmas!  Fun times!  Here are a few pictures!  I hope that you all had a great Independence Day!

Once Chloe got on the Sea-Doo, she was hooked---she asked Daddy to go faster!
