I was lookin' good!

I'm Lovin' that this week is Dr. Seuss' birthday!
As some of you know, he's one of my favorites:

So I was THRILLED to be able to visit with Chloe's class today to read another fave for her friends....

Thanks Mrs. King for snapping this picture for me!

It's stormin' like crazy in Clarksville today...and I'm Lovin' it!

Weekend Wrap-Up: Kids Edition

This weekend was spent doing a whole lot of nothing but it was way busy...
ever have those kind of weekends?
Of course, I took lots of pictures.

I have to start out with this sweet picture.
I took it when I got home from work on Thursday.
He looks SO big!

First up, Carter sharing his snacks {that he dumped on the floor} with Riley.
He's so sweet to share PLUS Riley licked up all the little crumbs...BONUS!

Saturday, we spent a lot of time just playing around the house...and outside for a bit.
The kids are starting to play really well together.

Exhibit A:

They even share their food.
Chloe sharing her Banana.
Exhibit B:

Chloe pretending to be pregnant...I love the way Carter looks in this picture. His face is priceless!
Exhibit C:

It was a bit chilly on Saturday so Chloe bundled up to jump on her trampoline {for all of 5 minutes}!

Sunday was a pretty busy day.
We went to Church.
Ate at 5 Guys Burgers and Fries {YUM}.
And finally, went to the Children's Museum in Murfreesboro.

She was texting me while we ate {not really, but I thought it was a funny moment}.

Enjoying the YUMMY food!
The fries were amazing and they gave us enough to feed a family of 10.

The kids had a ton of fun at the Museum.
Carter especially...he loved running around.
He is so much more like a Toddler these days...not sure what happened to my Baby.

Chloe beat me at a game of Tic-Tac-Toe.

Waiting for the Animal Show to start.

Carter was obsessed with putting the pegs in this board.
He was very meticulous.

Blake built  him this fort in the kids area.
Both kids had fun going in and out!

Our sweet girl.

Prepping her to work at the dealership.
We start them out young!

Now, on to a busy week!
Time sure is flying by.

The 5 Tag

Well, Amanda tagged me several weeks ago, I finally have a moment to play the game.

Here are the rules:

-5 short things about yourself (not the normal stuff we already know)
-5 things about your blog
-5 of your favorite photos
-Tag 5 blog friends

Here I go:

5 things about me:

1. I'm proud to be a young Mom.  Blake and I were blessed with our first child, Chloe, at the rip ole' age of 23 years old.  Talk about a life awakening moment.  We had only been married for 5 months when we found out...plus we were one of the first of our friends to have kids.

2. Blake & I have been together for almost 14 years.  I think I mention that often, but there is something to be said about growing together through high school, then the college years, and now as real life adults ;)

3. I'm an only child. Not too strange, but, this made it extremely difficult to decide to have a second child. We finally made the leap when Chloe was 4 years old...it was perfect timing.  Carter couldn't have been more of a blessing.  I would recommend at least an age spread of 4 years+ between kids.  It has definitely been beneficial for us!

4. I'm an Army brat...but, was blessed with living in one place my entire life...minus the 3 years I lived in Mannheim, Germany (between the ages of 5-8).  I am born and raised right here in Clarksville.  I guess its a good thing my Dad was 160th...they don't tend to move too often!

5.  I work with my family.  I work hand in hand with  my sister-in-law, Casey.  I also work indirectly with my husband and his Dad.  It sounds crazy, but it works for us.  It has for more than 7 years now.  Blake and I also live in my sister-in-laws backyard...we are always in close proximity!

5 things about my blog:

1. I have been journaling our life since February 2008.  Woah!  Chloe was a teeny tiny 18 month old at the time!  Wow, she has grown!

2. This is my personal story...but, I choose to highlight the positive things that happen with my family.  I don't want to look back in 50 years and reminisce on all the negative stuff.  Life's too short.

3. I really use this as a way to remember all the fun stuff the kids have done, their accomplishments, their growth.  It's basically a glorified baby book!

4. I don't change my 'blog' look too often because for me, it's a tough thing to do.  Thanks to Amanda, I've learned how to manipulate a few things!  I'm currently in love with the way it looks!

5. This is my 466th post!  That's insane!

5 of my favorite photos:

A lot of these are repeats...I use them a lot because they are my favorite!

1. Favorite Wedding Photo #1
{great thing about this photo...we were only able to get these outside shots because the wedding party limo decided to stop off at the liquor store before coming to the reception.  Thankful for their decision though because this is my fav ;)}

2. Favorite Wedding Photo #2
{taken right outside of the Church after we were pronounced Husband & Wife}

3. My sweet love bug
{Chloe-March 2008-before Brittnye and Steven's rehearsal dinner.  She was a flower girl}

4. The 2 loves of my life.
{Taken Spring 2011}
Wearing pastels for the first time that season and looking oh so cute!

5. Sweet baby boy
{Outside chillin' in his adorable hat.
Couldn't have captured the moment better!}

What I'm Lovin' Wednesday!

I feel like most Wednesdays I'm just catching up from the weekend...where does time go?
Today, I'm Linkin' up with Jamie...

Let's start with this past Friday...
I'm Lovin' the DRAKE concert with wonderful friends!
Good times had in Nashville!

Earlier in the day, Carter had his 15 month apt (we are just a month behind since he's already 16 months).
He is still growing like a weed:
Weight: 29 1/2 lbs (91%)
Height: 34.5 in (97%)
Head: 48.5 cm (80%)

Just confirms what we already know...he's going to outgrow Chloe within the year...guaranteed.
Dr. Road said he is above expectations as far as talking...which makes me happy being that he is a boy and the second child...I was so nervous he wouldn't be a talker!

All four of us went to the appointment...was not Lovin' that.  Craziness!

He got 3 shots at the appointment.
We noticed a large red spot later that weekend that showed up at the injection spot.
Turns out, he has Celulitus. Yuck.
He is now on 10 days of antibiotics to help with the infection.

{look at those thighs}

Saturday was low key...which is what we needed.
I'm Lovin' Mommy-Daughter "quality" time...
playing beauty shop:

Mrs. Laura would be proud...she even 'pumped' up her salon chair!

having slinky races down the stairs:

Free brother & sister entertainment:

I'm Lovin' my 2 new Essie colors:
Fishnet Stockings
Sand Tropez

I'm Lovin' shopping trips with my girlfriends.
6 of us headed to Green Hills, ate lunch at The Cheesecake Factory, and shopped our hearts out.
We all left successful with dresses for the upcoming Candlelight Ball.
I actually found 2 dresses, and I'm still in the process of choosing between them!

I'm Lovin' homemade Krystal burgers.
Thanks to Mrs. Sheila for the recipe!
They were a hit with the husband and the kids!
YUMMY!

What you need:
1 lb Hamburger Meat
1 packet French Onion Soup Mix
A little bit of Mayo
Mustard
Monteray Jack Cheese
Dill Pickle Hamburger Slices
Hawaiian Rolls

Cook hamburger meat and drain. Add in soup mix, enough mayo to make sticky, a handful of monteray jack cheese and MIX.  Cut the rolls in 1/2 keeping them in tact. Place mixture on bottom 1/2 of rolls.  Top with a sprinkle of cheese, a pickle, and a bit of mustard.
Heat until gooey at 350 degrees.
Enjoy with fries & beans.

A few words I'm Lovin...thanks Pinterest!
