First Trip to the Zoo, Easter 2008, and an Iron

I am getting so terrible about keeping this thing updated...I promise to do better :) We have been super busy! On Good Friday, Chloe and I went with Jennifer and Sylas to the Zoo. I was so excited...1st-because Chloe had never been to the Zoo and 2nd-I had not been since Blake and I were in high school (and that was a long time ago). They have done so much since I have been there. We ate lunch, visited with all the animals, went to the petting zoo, and *best of all* Chloe got to ride the carousel. She was a little freaked out at first, but it did not take long for her to fall in love with it. When the ride stopped, she continued to bounce up and down...I guess that was her attempt to make the ride continue. She sat on some kind of marsupial..not sure what type of animal it was, but it went up and down, and that was all that mattered! The Best $2 that I could have spent that day! Enjoy the pics :)

Chloe did not really want to pet the animals...she really wanted to collect all the animal brushes. She is a funny girl!

Play area at the Zoo! Chloe and Sylas had a big time in here. And, as Jennifer put it, it was very hard to get this picture...Chloe is not smiling necessarily, but they are both looking at the camera :)

It was such a pretty day that day...this was after we got back from the Zoo. Blake got home early, so we spent some time outside. Chloe still does not lover her Barbie ATV...but she is getting there. She wanted to get a suntan on her belly instead...priorities!
Easter 2008 was wonderful. Chloe got lots of treats from the Easter Bunny this year to include sidewalk chalk, new crayons, a shapes puzzle, and two new purses. No candy of course...at this point her Fruit Loops are her 'treat.' I guess I will keep that going as long as I can! We got up and went to early service on Easter Sunday. The Service was great! Then we went and had a big meal at the Country Club! All in all a great day! Oh--the best part, in between Church and Lunch, we did a mini-Easter Egg Hunt at Grandy and Jenks' House. Chloe was so in to it. I was really amazed. She was literally banging on the door to get outside and pick up the eggs. If this gives me any insight into next year, I can't wait :)

Yesterday, Blake and I had to go and pick up a new iron. We went to Linens-and-Things. Well, much to Chloe's excitement, they have miniature shopping carts. She had a blast pushing her cart around the whole store. She did not want Blake and I to touch it...at all! It was pretty funny! This has to be the cutest picture ever! How can you get mad at such a sweet face?

Lots to catch up on!

Well, I have lots to post...so bear with me. The Jenkins Family has been busy! Two weeks ago we had a big day! We ate breakfast at Cracker Barrel with Grandpa Gallegos! It was yummy. Chloe enjoyed rocking in the 'big' rocking chair! Blake and I then took her to the Children's Museum downtown. It was a really fun..well, Chloe loved it. It was kind of dark and dingy..not like I remember it from when we were little. But, she loved it none the less. They have a grocery store for the kids to shop in...they can push their carts and pick out all the food their little hearts desire. She loves doing anything that involves pushing / pulling more than one item. At one point she was pushing 3 grocery carts! We also got to go into the Bubble room...there were lots of big kids so we did not spend too much time in there! In between breakfast and the Museum, we attempted to take Chloe to the Easter Bunny. She seemed really into it...she was pointing and saying 'Puppy.' I guess the Easter Bunny looks like a puppy...oh, to be a child! Anyway, once we put her in the Bunny's lap, it was down hill. She was not having it. Needless to say, we did not get a 2008 Easter Bunny Pic!

Austin Peay went to the NCAA tournament this year! Go Govs! So Grandy and Grandaddy were not sure if they were going to be here for Easter...so they gave Chloe her Easter treats early! Thanks Grandy and Grandaddy!
Aunt KK is attempting to put her new Bunny Ears on...she doesn't really like anything on her head...unless it is a bow, of course!
'Check out my new bunny purse...I'm serious.' Can't you tell by that face!
Last Wednesday, Chloe's daycare class had an Easter Party. Under normal circumstances, I purchase delicious cupcakes from Walmart. For some reason I got the itch to bake cupcakes. I have never done it before...I must say, they came out quite yummy! Not the prettiest things I have ever seen...but yummy none the less. Chloe was a big helper!

Yummy! Not too bad for my first baking experience :) I'll be posting our zoo adventure and Easter pictures tomorrow! I hope everyone had an amazing Easter...I know we did!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Well, it is official...Blake is 25! On March 12th, we celebrated the day that our insurance (well his insurance) goes down! Hooray! That is pretty lame. What do we have to look forward to now? I brought a cake to work so that we could celebrate with all of his Honda co-workers. The cake was really good--thanks Kroger! Being the great wife that I am (no comments please :)), I took Blake to eat at Hananoki! Yummy! Blake said his food was not that great, but mine was fabulous! We ate in the sushi bar as our appetizer and then on to the main course. We got the usual--fillet and shrimp for me and the assorted seafood for Blake! Aunt Casey watched Chloe for us so that we could have a few good hours of Blake and Fran time! Much needed! Casey took Chloe to a softball game. She loved it! It was a beautiful day outside...perfect softball weather! She played with some new friends and got to eat a yummy cupcake (probably her favorite food...when they are available and when I let her have one)! All I can say, it has been a great week! Oh--Thanks Aunt KK for watching our Bird! The other picture of Chloe was at Aunt KK's house during dinner time. She was not that interested in the food as you can see!

Snow and Birthday Cake!

So, we all woke up on Saturday morning to...I don't know...a few inches of snow. I don't know if I have ever seen that much snow in Clarksville...ever. It was so beautiful. We certainly did enjoy it. I took Chloe out for a few minutes. She was really not that into it. She is so girly....It might have been because she was so bundled up she couldn't move. Who knows? I wanted to make sure she was nice and warm. Because Blake was still asleep, I attempted to use the timer on my camera to get a good pic of me and Chloe...I don't think I was a huge success. Well, now all the snow is melted, unfortunately, so on with the warm weather please!

On Sunday, Chloe and I went to her friend's birthday party. Izzie turned 1! Her mom, Ashley, did such a fabulous job decorating. It was a butterfly themed party...perfect for a little girl. The kids got to play 'pin the antenna on the butterfly.' I thought that was a genius idea! Chloe had a great time visiting with her friends. She also enjoyed the yummy birthday cake...she really is my daughter :)

This is a picture of Chloe and her friend, Sylas, at the Birthday Party...Sylas is always smiles...can't say that about Chloe. It is hard to get her to pose for pictures...I am working on it! Well, tomorrow is Blake's Birthday...I am taking him on a surprise dinner. I will post pictures later this week!

Breakfast in Bed...Well, Kind of!

Well, I have a few things to post today! But first, I had a nice surprise this morning. This is how it started...last night, Blake and I were laying down to go to bed. He informed me that he would have to hold our Sales Meeting the next morning. At the time, I found it strange that he was not nervous in the least and that he had not mentioned it before. I asked him what he planned to talk about, and he said he had not even thought about it really (again, I should have seen the big red flag). So, he wanted me to wake him up at 5:45am so that he could plan out the meeting. I told him 'Okay.' My thought was, I wanted him to be prepared because he would not only embarrass himself if not prepared but me too...and we don't want that to happen. So, at 5:45am this morning, my annoying alarm went off. I woke Blake up as fast as I could...and then, cool as a cucumber, he said 'are you hungry?' Of course I am...it is 5:45 in the morning! I said 'yeah, but you need to get working on your meeting.' He then informed me that he made the whole thing up, but that he wanted to get up early so that he could make me breakfast! Needless to say, I was thrilled. This never happens :) So, Blake made me eggs and waffles for breakfast. We got to sit as a family this morning (even though it was only for 10 minutes) and eat together! I was so happy! He got a few brownie points for that one!
So, this week was Spirit Week at Chloe's Daycare. Of course, we had to participate! Monday was 'Spirit Day'--wear your Mulberry Bush official colors--either Blue or Green! Chloe walked into Daycare very proudly in her green onsie and her green bow! Very Cute!
The next day, was 'Dance your Pants Off'...Unfortunately, I did not have a fun outfit for that day...but, she did look cute in her jeans!

Wednesday, was 'Wacky, Tacky, Backwards Day'...well, I put Chloe in the wackiest outfit I could find...but again, I thought it was pretty cute!

Finally, I went to a great Consignment Sale earlier this week. I found lots of goodies for Chloe (this is where I get the bulk of her clothes each season). One of the great items I found was a Play Kitchen..like the big ones. It was even better when I saw the price tag of $15! I scooped it up really fast! Well, Blake and I introduced it to Chloe on Wednesday! I have never heard this child say 'Yay.' But...she did clear as day when she saw it sitting in the hallway. It was so cute! I am hoping that this toy will give us a few minutes of peace and rest during the coming days! We will see how long it stays interesting to her!

Night out in Nashville

I hope this post finds everyone doing well! The weather outside is frightful..but thankfully, I am behind my desk, nice and warm! This past weekend was Kayla's Bachelorette Party. She is getting married in Antigua on March 15th! Well, all I have to say is...'I am officially too old to hoot with the owls.' Never again...well, never say never :) We had a great time...having a night out on the town with old friends is always the best. Below are some pictures. We started the night out at Big River Grill, which was fabulous! I will have to say that I was completely exhausted on Sunday. Thankfully, I am now fully rested! All in all, a fun and eventful night :) Oh, this week is Spirit week at Chloe's Daycare so be watching for some fun pictures soon!! xoxo

This Pictures was before I left...Chloe did not seem too thrilled :) Gotta love the pouty face!

Dinner at Big River Grill! Yummy!

The Bachelorette and Becky singing in the streets...that was a great moment! He was actually a great singer. I believe he was doing his rendition of some Elton John song!

Brittnye and I at the end of our long night! :)
