Excited to start this tomorrow...Stay tuned!

check it out here

Always playing catch up!

We had quite an eventful weekend at the Jenkins House.  Starting with Blake coming home on Friday night!  Everyone was so excited that Daddy was home!  Blake was in D.C. last week attending NADA Dealer Academy.  He graduates in July {and I can't wait}...it's tough being the only one at home for an entire week!  But, we survived {sickness and all}!  As soon as Daddy got home, we jumped in the car and headed to get ice cream...we also made a pit stop to pick up some movies {50/50 & Columbiana}!

Saturday, I got up bright and early so I could have some ME time!  Much needed.  I headed to the gym for the first time in a long time and did 3 miles on the treadmill...not too shabby since I haven't ran in quite some time!  That night, Grandy & Jenks kept the kids for us so we could go and eat at Blackhorse with some friends.  Afterwards, we headed to a movie with Haven & Jeremy.  We saw Man on a Ledge...it was pretty good!  I would definitely recommend it!

Since we needed to get the kids early for Church on Sunday, we decided to get up extra early so we could make a pit stop at Cracker Barrel before Church.  It is Chloe's absolute favorite place to eat {besides Olive Garden}!  We headed on to Church after that and then home for a much needed Winter's Day Nap!

Chloe has been asking to help peel potatoes ever since she had the opportunity to do it with Grandy a few weeks back.  Last night, she finally got her chance!  As soon as I got in from my meeting, she was ready to peel!  Afterwards, she helped me count out 100 buttons to hot glue to her shirt for school on Friday.  Clarksville Academy will be celebrating their 100th day of school with lots of fun activities!  All the kids have to wear shirts with 100 things on them!  We chose buttons because I thought it would be the easiest and 'cleanest' things to hot glue!  I think it turned out pretty cute!

Here are a few other pictures from the past week:

A great deal on 2 pairs of shoes for Chloe--2 pairs for only $9--gotta love Target Clearance!
These probably won't fit her until next Fall, but it was too good of a deal to pass up!

On our way home last Wednesday, Chloe suggested ice cream!  Okay, I'm not one to argue when it comes to that!  I thoroughly enjoyed mine!

A few shots of the kids loving on each other and playing around in our rec room
{which we never use...weird, huh?}

Happy Tuesday!

Fill in the Blank Friday

Well, thanks to Amanda, I've been turned on to yet another link up!
Oh well, they are fun!
Here are my answers for
Fill In The Blank Friday!

1.   My favorite place {s} i've ever traveled to is:
Well, my favorite adults only place has been Jamaica...for sure!  We went with 2 other couples and had the time of our life...and stayed at the most amazing all-inclusive resort {the Iberostar Resort}.

For kiddos, Hershey, PA.  By far the most kid friendly place I've ever been.  They had an adult size amusement park and then has the same things just kid size!  It was awesome...PLUS chocolate everywhere {what's not to love about that}!

2.  Paris  is somewhere I'd love to go someday.

3.  I pass the time on a plane (or bus, or car ride or train) by  pretending I'm going to read but really listening to my Ipod.

4.  My three must-haves when I travel are   my Ipoda big enough bag to tote all my junk around and my DVD player {for the kids}.

5.  My favorite travel companion is  Blake, of course!

6.  The craziest thing that ever happened to me while traveling is  well, traveling with 2 kids is a ZOO so I'm sure there have been lots of things, but I can't really remember.  I do recall missing a plane when traveling to Connecticut to visit my Aunt.  A 2 hour lay over later, and we were on our way.  No bueno when traveling with a small child!

7.  The most exotic food I've ever tried while traveling is  well, I can't say I tried it, but Blake did--octopus--yuck. It was on the buffet when we were in Cancun, Mexico on our honeymoon! Oh, I did try alligator once...I think in the Bahamas maybe!

8.  If I could live anywhere else, I'd live in Charleston, SC.

9.  I have been to 13  states in the U.S.

Fun, huh?

You should link up too!

What I'm Lovin' Wednesday!

It's Wednesday so I'm Linkin' up with Jamie!

This week, I'm Lovin'

This sweet surprise I received when I got back from lunch yesterday.
They were on my desk!
So fun!
I'm Lovin' that husband!

It was a great Tuesday pick me up since we have all been down and out with sickness lately!

I'm Lovin' my new shampoo and conditioner.
My hairdresser, Laura, recommended trying something new to stimulate my scalp!
It's definitely working!
Thanks Whole Foods!

I'm Lovin' how big this boy is looking.
He is finally over being sick (for the last 2 weeks) so seeing him smile, makes my day!

{Hi Mom!}

{at Mrs. Amelia's for a play date with Anderson, Austin, & Alec}

I'm Lovin' this sweet girl.
This is what she has been doing for the last 5 days.
Ughhh..she is finally back to school today &
her sweet teacher Mrs. King emailed and said her day has been good
{fingers crossed she is on the way to being well}.
The silver lining of having an older child that is sick is that they actually can tell you what is wrong
PLUS will actually sleep when its needed!

{sweet baby girl}

I'm Lovin' this article--

Puts being a Working Mom & a Stay At Home Mom in perspective.
Whatever you choose to do, its a tough job!

I'm Lovin' this movie:
Rent it.
You will shed tears but it will be worth it!

I'm off to pick up my sweet girl from school so we can get some R&R!

What are you Lovin' this week?

Sickness has Struck!

Well, Carter has been sick for almost 14 days.  No fun.
Chloe started to show signs of sickness on Friday.  Ughhh.
Nothing worse than 2 sick kiddos.

After school, we had planned for Chloe to participate in the half time show at the Clarksville Academy Basketball Game.  She said she felt up to it...so we loaded up, ate a quick bite at Wendy's, and then headed to the game!
It was so cute.
Jr. Cheerleaders

{Cheering on the Cougars...waiting to perform}

Saturday was spent in bed...for all of us!
I ran out to my girlfriend's Orient Expressed Party to order the kiddos a few cute Spring items...
but other than that, we layed low.

{We watched A LOT of TV}

I did try a new crock pot recipe.
YUM!

Hawaian BBQ Chicken

4 frozen chicken breasts
1 bottle of BBQ sauce {we used Jack Daniels}
1 can of pineapple chucks {partially drained}
cook on high for 4-5 hours

Serve over white rice
ENJOY!

{I had a little guy helping me cook}

Sunday, we did a bit of packing...and more lounging.
Thankfully, Carter is on the mend and was back to being his old self!
Chloe, however, is still feeling pretty crummy.
Again, lots of time spent in bed and watching lots of movies!

I finally put batteries in the toy that "Santa" brought Carter.
The kids had a big time playing with it...well,
sitting on it!

Carter wanted to help Daddy pack...
by sitting on the suitcase and putting his blocks inside!

Pictures from last week.
I took Carter to the Dr. on Wednesday night...2 hours later, we were told he had something that was VIRAL.
The words a mother never wants to hear.
I was really hoping for something that was treatable...but, he's now on the mend!
He was worn out from screaming in the waiting room for 45 minutes.

Thursday, I stayed home with Carter so he could get some R&R.
He did the cutest thing that day....
One of his favorite things to do is get sippy cups from the drawer and then try to get water from the fridge.
It's so sweet and always ends up making a big watery mess.
Well, I had an empty Apple Juice Jug by the trash can.
He got his cup like normal, sat it down on the floor, and attempted to pour himself juice.
He was so pateince.  His chunky legs kept knocking over the cup or the juice bottle and he just kept trying to do it over and over again!

It amazes me how smart he is at just 15 months!

Here's another recipe I tried last week:

Taco Chicken Chilli

1 can of black beans (drained and rinsed)
1 can of kidney beans (drained and rinsed)
1 can of chopped green chillies
1 can of corn
6 chicken breasts (mine were thawed)
8 oz tomato sauce
1 can of rotel w/ green chillies
cilantro
1 package of taco seasoning

Mix all ingredients in crock pot.
Place 6 pieces of chicken on top.
Cook for 6 hours on low.
Shred chicken and serve!

YUMMY!

Hope you had a wonderful weekend!
I'm actually looking forward to Monday
& NO SICKNESS!

What I'm Lovin' Wednesday!

Is it Wednesday?
Seriously, I have been confused on what day it is ALL week.
I'm linkin' up with Jamie...You should too!

I'm in a blogging funk lately...but, I do still have a few things I'm Lovin'

I'm Lovin' BOB Books.

Ever heard of them?
Well, if you have a new reader, I think these are a necessity.
Thankfully, Chloe's teacher is very hands on.  She is sending home 1 BOB book a week for us to read.  I love that these books make Chloe feel successful.  That's the key right?
Oh, and Mommy having P.A.T.I.E.N.C.E!

I'm Lovin' my sweet boy's attitude.
Even though he has been really, really sick...he has still had a big smile on his face.

{our 6 month check up with our favorite ENT Dr. Brandon}

I'm Lovin' the latest movies we have watched:

All available at the ole' RedBox for just a buck!

I'm Lovin' that Chloe is going to get to go to Cheer Camp at School this upcoming week (and in February).  She is pretty excited about it {and so is Mommy}!

I'm Lovin' these inspirational finds on Pinterest:

Weekend Wrap-Up

Remember those days when you anxiously watched the Snow Bird report?  Well, Friday I was up extra early to watch...but this time it was for Chloe and not me...since we had a snow flurry on Thursday, Chloe was out Friday!  We took full advantage of the day...Mommy Daughter Date!

Lunch: Cracker Barrel
{her pick}

Movie: Beauty & the Beast
{her pick again}

Afterwards, nap time for both of us!
It was a great day!

The rest of the weekend was laid back...lunch at Longhorn, some shopping, Church, & Chloe time with Papa!

They did some yard work, worked on flash cards, and made this clock!

It is proudly hanging in her room now!

We did have to make a pit stop at the Walk-In Clinic for Carter.  He has had eye issues for about a week now.  Saturday his eye looked terrible even though he had been on medicine for a few days.
Conclusion: Ear infection in his left ear...which has in turn caused the infection in his eye!
{YUCK}

We are now on a strong antibiotic and hoping that it clears up soon!

My sweet niece Chandler came over for a bit on Saturday as well!

 The house was full of kid energy!

Finally, Sunday night, Daddy spent a few minutes teaching Chloe to tie her shoes.
She did pretty good for her first go of it!
She tied them by herself once!
Practice WILL make perfect!
